31 Days of Devotion, Day 31 by Andy Postell

Daily Reading: Revelation 7: 9-12

I long for the day when the Church can’t be numbered and is made up of all nations, tribes, people, and languages. Don’t you? One of the powerful aspects of the Live2540 ministry is that it allows people to support others without ever knowing that we will have the opportunity to meet. It is an action simply based on faith and belief that Jesus Christ is Lord. Lord of all people. Lord of all nations.

As we read our scripture today, I am a bit wary of folks who contend that they’ve got the Book of Revelation all figured out. However, there are places where the significance of the verses comes breaking through with clarity. What we see here is nothing less than the fulfillment of God’s promise to Abram that through him, all the peoples of the world would be blessed! In this glimpse of heaven, John describes how all peoples are gathered around the throne, shouting, “Salvation belongs to our God who is seated on the throne and to the Lamb!”
Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might be to our God forever and ever! Amen.

I have heard preachers say that the message of Revelation is “God wins.” One could also say, “God’s mission is fulfilled.” As we wind down our daily devotions and prepare for the November “Match” with Live2540, how would you describe in your own words what God’s mission in Liberia is? As you think about that mission, how will you join Him? What will you sacrifice? How will you share it? We can’t long for it and do nothing about it. Let’s work together this November to bring more of Heaven here on Earth.

Daily Prayer
Dear Lord, I confess that sometimes I am very concerned about things going on in the world, but I choose to remain silent. Remind me of the promises in your word. Deepen my trust and faith in you. Grant me peace and give me boldness to share with others the good news of your LOVE and to show your justice through the way that I live out Matthew 25:40. Through Christ the Lord, Amen.
