31 Days of Devotion, Day 22 by Stephanie Proctor

Daily Reading: Acts 1:6-11

Luke quotes Jesus saying the same thing in his Gospel. Luke 24:45-49 [Jesus] “opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, and said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and on the third day rise from the dead, and that repentance for the forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things. And behold, I am sending the promise of my Father upon you. But stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high.”

Have you experienced the good news of the Gospel? Has Christ opened your mind to understand the scriptures? Have you found forgiveness of your sins in Christ's finished work on the cross on your behalf? Have you been sealed with the promise of the Holy Spirit and are now looking forward in hope of eternal life and everlasting joy with Christ? Then say so! Join with the disciples and proclaim the good news to the ends of the earth. You never know who might have ears to hear!

Daily Prayer
Gracious Lord, you send the disciples to bear witness to you in all the world. Help me to see how I can best be a witness to you. Help Live2540 be a witness in Liberia. Let me be part of your movement in Africa. Amen.
