31 Days of Devotion, Day 12 by Pastor John S. Lampley
Daily Reading: Micah 6:8
“No, O people, the Lord has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.” - Micah 6:8 NLT
People are compelled to help those that are less fortunate than they are for many different reasons. However, there are some who never consider others at all. Our faith in God should always compel us to do the “right thing” when it comes to others.
“To Love Mercy” is to be merciful to others. We do our part when we do for others what God has done for us. In assisting others during a time of need we become the hands and feet of God. To share with others out of the abundance of life, is to show the love of God.
Humble servants do not need to be recognized for what they have done for others in name of obedience. God who alone knows the heart is able to determine the motive of each act of service. Remain faithful to God and he will reward you openly. Consider this verse as a reminder of our response to God’s goodness.
Pray that God will use you to bless others because of the bountiful blessings that He has given you!
